car tax/V5 help!

just bought another car, the V5 has gone off to the DVLA, i have the wee green "receipt" bit from the V5 (New keeper supplement V5C/2)

can i tax the car with this? i think i can, but not 100% sure (tax has expired!)

Yeah you can, but you have to go to the post office rather than online I think

Don't do it online or the new disc will go to the old owners address.
Just go down to the post office, you need the green slip, the current MOT and your insurance certificate.

Post office can only do it with the V5 slip up to 6 months or something after getting the car, I had a lot of problems taxing mine without the logbook for a while.

Post office, if they can't help (normally ok unless the car has had recent plate change) local dvla office.
