Car Won’t Start :o(

  Clio 190bhp Hybrid

Put car on charge sunday night and there were some sparks when I connected charger up. Took off charge yesterday morning and car would not start.

Ended up replacing battery which was knackered and distributor cap and rotar arm. Still wont start.

Anyone any idea if the sparks could have knackered something or what may be causing it. Not sure if it could be ignition module or ECU.

By attaching a spark plug to the coil lead that goes to to the distributor cap, there is a spark from the ignition module/coil when turning the engine over.

First time my car has let me down, must be sulking as I have now owned it for 3 years.

Could not even push it as the rear calipers love to stick on in the wet weather when stoodstill for a bit. Managed to free those via a towing rope and on towing the car it managed to bump start. Took it for a run and when I switched off and tried to turn on again it is working.

Very strange. Not sure what was wrong but think it best to get some diagnostics done as I dont want anything major going wrong with it.

At least it made me look at the rotar arm and dizzy cap to see if that was at fault. Old one was shot after 8 years. Would advise every1 to check theirs on Valver/Willy as I can imagine that being an area of poor performance if in bad condition.

the battery charger might have caused a temp voltage spike in the comp that sorted itself out
