Car wont start - no igintion just a click?!?

Woke up to go for a Maccies Breakfast this morning, went to start the car, and wasnt greated by the normal result.

Instead all I go was a click when I turned the key, which came from under the bonnet somewhere, has the starter motor gone?

Expensive to fix? or can a competent DIY do it?

Cheers

sure u havnt got a flat battery and the clicking is ur starter motor

if it not ur battery hit the motor gentley 2 try and unsieze it.

All sorted now, nice one. The battery wasn't flat thank god. What was that all about anyway? Do Starters sieze up regularly?

You might want to check you haven't got dead cell/s in your battery as it might happen again otherwise.

put a volt meter on your battery while the engine is running. you should have 13 - 14.5 volts with lights and blower on at 2000rpm. any thing less then u have a charging fault, ive seen lots of alternator faults on these cars

Mine did exactly the same thing a week ago and it turned out to be a loose wire connected to the battery.
