Car wouldnt start

Put key in and turned all lights went really dim, handbrake light went very dim, no electrics worked.

Popped hood fiddled with wires and car starts!

Brand new battery from halfords 2 months ago.:S

Any ideas, where to start looking please?

Bad connection. Grease up the battery connection sounds like the new one hadn't been greased up.
