Carbon bonnet lacquer help

  192'd BG 182 FF
Hi all,

Got myself a second hand carbon bonnet at the weekend. There is a small patch of very light scuffing on the centre line near the front.
Is there anyway of me clearing this up without getting it re-lacquered?

Thanks in advance!

Hi guys, about the carbon itself. I've just read that it needs certain care? Doesanyone know what sort of care this would be?

Thanks again in advance

If its lacquered with anti uv laquer then its fine, if its unlacquered then uv rays will over time degrade and yellow the resin
Also Untreated carbon isn't waterproof, well it will be waterproof for a while but over time you can get water ingress which over time could ruin the component.
Personally I'd flat it all back and relaquer.

Cheers for that, is flatting and re-lacquering something i could do at home or should i get a bodyshop to do it?

You could do all the prep work at home, but for a big panel like that I'd get a pro to spray it. carbon is tricky stuff to laquer, loves to leave pinpricks

Ahh right, just flat it slightly all over or do i need to take all the lacquer off?
