Carbon canister problem?????

Hi guys,
have got that ticking noise from the canister can you just disconnect the electrical terminal on top of the canister to stop the ticking noise. And if so will this cause any other problems?

The ticking is not a problem, its the noise the internal solenoid makes when its functioning.

i,ve unplugged the canister, and on my way to work this moring the engine management light has now come on.
Is there any way of turning this light off without pluging the canister back in, and has anyone else had this happen to them.

Hi mate i have a 52 plate clio and took it down a dirt track and some how managed to brake the carbon canister poss on a rock. any way to the point i took it out and have never had a problem with engine management light coming on it just pops an bangs from the exhaust but thats down to unburnt fuel.
