Carbon Canister

Hi Guys, I have just bought a 04 182, which I already love, but since getting it home the toxic monitor light has come on, I have read its down to the Carbon Canister, when I have checked, its been removed and the electric wires have been chopped and joined together, I have searched on here and found a couple of threads that say I need to connect a resistor, is it 23 ohm? with the wires connected direct the light stays on....

22ohm I fitted in mine and hasn't caused a fault code so that'll work. 74p from maplins.
