Carbon Fibre 1*2 Bullets . . .

bic

  Land Rover Discovery
This is actually the pre preg carbon master which we then make a carbon mould from and then . . . finally make some parts from, lol.

We thought they looked good anyway :) soon GB people, very soon ;)

Because I am impatient...

My initial thoughts are that the lettering will need painting and I'm hoping that the colouring of the actual CF is darker than it appears in these pictures. If it is...it all depends on the price, obviously I'm expecting a discount for showing the pictures to the masses PMSL.

bond on, these are unlacquered still, and as said above are a master to then mould off of, whats wrong with the letters ? this is as good as it gets!

Cheers for sorting picture, i will have more space come the 10th Jan

cheers

I wouldn't say there is anything wrong with the letters as such, I just think that, as with most OEM Ph2 bullets, they would look better with colour coded lettering. Personal preference really.

And not a problem. Let's call it 50% off? ;) I can offer webspace too for additional discount lol.

are they pretty thin??

otherwise, as said above, wont they stick out from the side of the car and ruin the line of the side strips?

soz wondering if there is anywhere to get a carbon fibre rear bumper insert and price cheers

bic

  Land Rover Discovery
completing the rear bumper insert mould at present, finished soon yes.

The bullets are an exact like for like copy of the oe part, the lines will remain the same, the art will be in thevfitting, something we cannot be responisble for, but hence why we are having a return flange on the back to allow bonding into position easier

Is this going to be another..."Nobody knows what they cost!" unless you pm...

Bonding is not an option unless your daft.

lol, i think its more of a

"look what we're making. They aren't actually finished yet, and this is a picture of the mould not the actual item..."

some feedback: next time, a pic of the finished item and a price would be a better start.

This product retails at £79.99 for a pair and come 2k gloss lacquered

To retain clips would mean the product costing in the region of £150-200 per pair . . . bond on it will be then . . .

Why do you think BMW Mini charge £250 for a set of clip on carbon fibre mirror covers ?

What is daft about bonding ? Obviously not true die hard Renault modifying enthusiast's ? and more worried about when you sell the car in 6 months ? as oppose to the enjoyment of now

lol my sense of humour obviously didnt come across right lol

another mistake my pfc like with the seat, I havent seen the coverage in pfc, which issue ?

The bonding is an issue because if people are anything like me :)o) you change your side bullets at least twice a year!

With one set bonded on that simply wont be an option.

Please note the "lol" on the end of my hard sell comment :clown:.

It's in the February issue on page 8.

they are cool and also incredibly time consuming to make, material costs not massive, labour time yes, £59.99 price was prior being lacquered and also prior to developing the product fully, last time we do that as creates more work for us and for less money, few sets being made for the group buy we are doing, thereafter and on ebay and via email orders, £79.99 + postage, 5% discount for Cliosport club members

I dont see the issue with bonding them on, its only bonding it onto the front part of the sidestrip anyway not as if you are bonding it onto the door and ruining the paintwork.
If you really want them to clip on you could attach the clips from your old bullets with some resin.

ehh!!! How?! It's a couple of clips! If you've got the skills to do the hard bit why not get creative with the fixings!

Given that half of CS chop and change parts every 5mins it's just not a sensible and viable option!

I am not saying we CANT make clips, if people are complaining about priceof bond on versions, simple to accept the replication of clips would not be well received when the components are priced accordingly, and for your information thats makes it very unsensible and not viable in anyway, if they will be priced out of people's budget where is the point in manufacturing them

nowt wrong with bond on chaps, you're not bonding them to the OE bullets here, you're bonding them to the side strips, you will be able to remove them if you're clever

i would glue some zip ties to the back of these and then zip tie them to the side strips, easy peasy

i would suggest some of you read up on pre preg carbon manufacture, its incredibly time consuming! i know what's involved and i don't know how bic sells his stuff as cheap as he does! i mean look at reverie! i payed close to £700 for an airbox from them, and it is just a box pretty much!

quality chaps, all about the quality, i've fitted a few of bic's 172/182 splitters (the 2 piece ones that some people don't like) and the quality is incredible, THE best quality you will find! Its miles ahead of the competitor CF spliter unless they've changed their manufacturing technique (which looks nice too i might add, but to the trained eye it its a bit messy)

Cheers Fred :) It is Merv that laminates most of the parts, but i get involved with moulds and am the quality control man and help trim and finish the parts too, I will pass on your comments tomorrow morning :)
