You could argue that a car has been designed from the ground up and part of that design is the inherent flexing of the chassis. If you put a strut brace in then in theory you could be compromising the chassis design by transferring stress to parts of the car that aren't designed to take it....

Splitter if you don't already have one.
You got anywhere sorted for your cambelt yet fella? I'm booked in for next Monday. You going the meet in Northwich tomorrow night?

Not sorted cambelt yet... looking towards getting it done in November... Where are you getting your done and how much?

Didn't know there was a meet tomorrow night actually... where is it?

Carbon Splitter it is then... is there any lead time on these? Want to make sure I have one on the day!! :-D

Mini meet at a pub in northwich somewhere. Around 8ish.

I'm getting it done at Matt Black's (Specialist Breakers, Accrington)
£120 + VAT just for Cambelt. £60 for waterpump.

what about labour? Is it guarenteed? How long does it take to get to Accrington??

Sorry £120 + VAT is the price fo fitting a new cambelt...be dearer for you though. Think it's about 40-45mins according to multimap. I'll let you know on Monday though when I've been!

01254 386661 if you want to ring and ask for Matt I'm sure he'll be happy to talk to you about it and give you a price. Fred from Yozzasport recommended him to me. If you ring ask does the price include the tensioners and pulleys as I forgot to ask this and I'm not too sure.

What kind of discount do we get with Ktec? Do I need to phone them for availability? Don't know if they hold these in stock!

OK - may have changed my mind... the choices now are:

1. CUP Spoiler
2. CUP Splitter
3. Carbon Splitter

???

Nah, get a splitter - I went for a Cup splitter as IMO if matches the colour of mine better, but if I had a silver or black car I'd go for a carbon one...
