Carbon Wrapping

Hi so as the next adventure with my clio I'm going to be having a go at wrapping a few interior bits. I have a 1m*1m roll of wrap coming. Its not the 3m stuff because ive heard its not glossy and i know you can't lacquer it so I bought some other recommended stuff for like 25 quid.

Anyway, I'm going to do the dash strips, the hazard frame, the hazard buttons (I have a plan to cut out the symbols :D ), then the rest of the console up. ie not the head unit, climate control or drinks holder. But the hazard buttons, vents and the surround for the little screen.

I want to take it slow until that bit to get some practise though so am starting with the gear insert and strips.

Basically any tips, and ideas?

Take you time and cut the sheet larger that what your wrapping and heat it and push the vinyl down and stretch it around the edges to pull out the bubbles

'hair dryer' thats brilliant! if its 'controltac' you can take it off, and repostion it, if you dont like what youve done/wana correct it, you can pull it off, then heat it up with a heat gun and you can watch all the imperfections dissapear because heat will make it return to its shape! i work for a company called PVL we the vehicle livery for the emergency services, but we also create digitaly printed wrap kits, on 60" latex printers! we have wrapped my bosses 2ltr clio sport phase 2 and make certain bits 'day glo' orange, like the door bullets, diamonds, and fog light surrounds! it looks epic!!

Are you sure its wrapping film bud. there's a lot of crap out there that is advertised as wrapping film but ISNT. even with heat it will peel after a while especially if it goes through cold and hot phases.

It seems fairly reputable, a guy on here recommended it and the seller on eBay has 1000s of feedback with 100% rep. Got me worried now lol I'll let you know how it turns out, it should be coming tomorrow. :)

dont suppose you know what the material is? i know of a few companys that sell it, ones 3M, Hexis sell one, and a comapny called lakeside films do too, but from memory i think they sell the Hexis product, it should have the brand name on the backing paper!
