Caring for a car sitting in the snow?

  Clio 2, 1.2 16V
Should the snow be cleaned off every day or should it be allowed to just melt or sit under a blanket of snow?

I just need to check that you are not my wife? She asked today if I could clean the snow of her car to stop it going rusty!?!??

I was wondering if the snow can damage the paint, can it weather and erode the paint like it does statues?

It's not only the snow you've got to be aware of, it's the fresh air that will damage it. You need to put it into a protective cocoon.

Do you know what the main ingredient in snow is?

The snow will settle on the car, melt during the day and re-freeze. I was wondering if the water goes into the tiny scratch marks in the clearcoat, freezes and expands making any damage worse

Remember.. 'There's no such thing as a silly question'. You don't know unless you ask, be nice. The "SERIOUS?£"1112!!!" comments aren't contributing to the thread.

But no, if its not being used, I'd leave it alone.

You're thinking of freeze thaw erosion that occurs in rocks.

Last I checked my cars are made of metal and plastic.

I can kind of see where he's coming from now, the fibreglass lotuses have the paint bubbling issue.

Bloke asks a simple yes or no question. And for some advise.

And gets ripped by fellow forum members, its pathetic!

Ruining the forum for ppl, because next time he has a question. He probably will go else where to ask it. I would.

To be fair, I'd clear it off daily. Otherwise it thaws a bit, freezes again and is a pain in the ass to get off later. Remove when fresh for me.
