The snow will settle on the car, melt during the day and re-freeze. I was wondering if the water goes into the tiny scratch marks in the clearcoat, freezes and expands making any damage worse

You're thinking of freeze thaw erosion that occurs in rocks.

Last I checked my cars are made of metal and plastic.

The only peice of metal on my car is the Yozza. Everything else is plastic iirc?

To be fair, I'd clear it off daily. Otherwise it thaws a bit, freezes again and is a pain in the ass to get off later. Remove when fresh for me.

But what would you use to clear it? Wiping it would cause swirl marks, specially if the car was dirty underneath.

I used a soft brush and swept it of its only snow and when the has gone I will give it a good clean
