CarPlan Tyre Slik - ok on wheels

Got some of this stuff in the supermarket yesterday - they were practically giving it away. It says to spray it onto the tyre, but will the overspray do the wheels any harm?

for the stuff i use i just wait for it to dry and wipe it off the wheels. I find that if i leave it on and dont wipe off the overspray the brake dust sticks to the wheels,and they get dirty really quickly!



How much did you pay?

No, it shouldnt. Just give the alloys a wipe over after. Did find that when we took my Sisters BFs modded mini to a trackday caused a bit of slipping when throwing it into a corner, no idea if it does the same on the road.

Thanks guys, Ill give it a go this afternoon. The instructions warn about not getting it onto the tread as its a lubricant

Seems to work very nicely on new tyres. My tyres are only a few weeks old and they shine really well. Tried it on the Megane, which has much older tyres and it didnt work nearly as well.

it will be fine mate and that really is cheap !

watch out for overspray though, if you get any on the tread you might have some interesting results !....

if it gets on your alloys it should be ok it will be better than the brake dust being directly in contact with the alloy itself bit of protection
