Good evening, has anyone installed Cat Cams 422 with standard pistons? Is it possible to do so? Thanks.

You need to pocket the pistons to accommodate the extra valve lift.

I had bought some 422s a while ago before realising that they needed different pistons. Stuck some JE pistons in there now and its fine. But as Northloop says I don't think its possible without collision.

It would be interesting if someone could work out what the max allowable lift on stock piston was. You could in theory time 422s slight differently to reduce TDC lift

421 valve lift @Tdc:
2.30mm - intake
1.75mm - exhaust

422 valve lift @Tdc:
2.8mm - intake
2.3mm -exhaust
