Cat fitting kit, am I missing something?

  Golf GTD Mk7
Recieved these from K-tec today. Nice and prompt :D. Am i missing two washers though?

Also, why is there a gasket with this kit when there isn't one on the car originally?

No mate you have everything there and there is a gasket on the car, its probably welded itself to the manifold so give it a bit of knock with a hammer and it will come off.

hmmm, not sure if there is, but i'll double check. it was dark when i removed it. :) Thanks guys.

remember to remove the bolt cups (2nd from left) from the mani flange. give it a good wire brush too, there is usually a fair bit of surface rust there.

Yeah they're still stuck in, couldn't be arsed making loads of noise to get them out as it was late. The manifold join is rusted up and looking sorry for itself yeah. Fingers crossed there is no structural issues

Regarding the question about the two washers; the new kit doesn't have the metal washers which is counteracted by having shorter bolts which you will notice when you come to to swap them over.

I believe so. Might get my mate to put a bracket on the CAT to stop it hanging so much if it still blows with the new zorst on

I would do if I was decatting, but don't want to with it being pre-CAT just in case.

If you're taking it apart to do the mani/cat kit, you might want to seal up the cat join to the exhaust whilst you're at it. Otherwise be prepared....

No problem there, BTB are modding my CAT so i've got a true 2.5inch through system, so new style clamp. Fingers crossed the blowing is minimal from the mani :S

Your worrying too much. Just use a couple of washers from your old kit.

Spring kits a pain in the rear. I ended up bolting the thing up with the biggest bolts the holes would accept and have done with it. Never had a problem since

So you've not flex in yours at all then andy? Have you put in a supporting bracket to reduce any stress issues on the cat/mani join?

I think if you took the flex out the 182 system you would have knocking issues.

I repaced my join a few weeks back and it's spot on now.

Yep, same one you have Jonny. Was a piece of piss.

But yeah the system on a 182 seems to move about quite alot so I for one wouldn't be removing the flexi joint.
