CD player resetting...?

When the ignition is switched off in my mum's car, the Kenwood CD player forgets all of its settings such as radio stations, bass/treble controls etc...

what could be causing this?

Swap the wires Dan Yellow and red I think it is?

thanks Daz... i havent even taken the thing out yet to check the wiring. will give it a go tomorrow. Seems strange that someone must have swapped them over originally to make it function wrong though!?

What it means that the power will feed the stereo constantly to keep its memory .

red/white wire swaps with the yellow/pink wire?

The chances are that the loom will have bullet connecters on the yellow and red wires. Takes oh about 30 seconds max so stop faffing around and go do it already!
