CD skipping

Getting skips on the CD, worse for MP3 (cos the laser is moving slower?). Thing is Ill get in the same place or there abouts on a track but itll clear if I play the track a few times and then it might happen elsewhere...

So Im thinking it isnt scratched CD cos it woulnt go away. It does seem to happen on bumpy roads but then sometimes it happens when Im stationary !!??!!

Only thing I can think of is that the laser is sticking in its tracks or the HU is moving about, I didnt fit the rubber thingy on the back cos it was a tight fit with all the wiring etc round the back of the HU.

Any ideas? Mounting? HU sh*gg*d? Sticky laser?

Its a Sont CDX-F7700.

I used to have the same problem, p*ssed me off no end! But in the end I got myself a cd changer with air bubble suspension or whatever its called, so if you hit a bump, it has no effect.

  don't

the Cd changer ive got has just started doing this, havent checked the CDs yet

think its just the position the actual cd changers at though, will have 2 change it about and c

sounds like its just sticking

The HU is supposed to be this new S-drive or whatever to prevent skipping but I never had skips on the CDX-MP40 I used to have installed. Think it might be a sticking laser. Will see if playing CDs for a bit and not MP3 discs frees it off.

Unless anyone else knows owt?

right i know exactly what this problem is i managed to cure it by burning my mp3 cds at between 6-10 speed it happens because the disc has been burnt too fast and the laser cant keep up on ya hu or changer give it a go should sort ya problem
