CDA, Viper or Maxogen

  172, Tiguan

Ive heard rumours that the CDA is up with the Maxogen, as the Maxogen may never happen for the 172/CUP, is the CDA the safest bet or shall I:

a) get a viper

b) bodge a MG ZR Maxogen

c) Get the CDA

d) leave as is

What are your opinions on each filter.

Thanks

Either of the carbon airboxes will give similar results mate, but "bodging" one to fit aint the best idea, so either a Viper of CDA is the one to go for...

I have a Viper on mine and there is a definate performance increase with it fitted, and theres definatley more power & torque in the mida range, as we proved on the rollers last year.

However, the CDA is now a lot cheaper (£160 I believe) and just as good (some say better), so if I were you Id get a BMC CDA!

Im erring towrds the CDA because, the viper is not really what i was after.

However did want the Maxogen, but it keeps being delayed + the price of the thing. But i believe that the MG ZR one is similar.

Believe new vipers (evolution) are actually metal with carbon look to them rather than carbon like the CDA. Not seen in fleash though so could be wrong.

CDA is cheaper so I would go with that. As long as its sealed and is heat resistant, and teh filter element is of good quality, cant go wrong with any of them.

CDA all the way, there really is NO competition as all of the above are VERY similar filters, all good quality, yet the BMC is far far cheaper

just because you havent heard of BMC much before doesnt mean there crap, they make the F1 filters for the Ferarri and the BMW Williams teams....

Be like my Viper...

Its not as loud as a normal open induction kit, but you still get a really nice induction roar, not as in your face and more of a tuned note.

Sounds superb! :D

ive got a CDA, really nice induction noise, not like these K&Ns!!!! was 209.67 delivered form demon tweeks.

Brun, Ive sent another pm with regards to the two different size CDAs.

Id be interested to hear Ben or Jays view on this if they might be reading.

I dont know anything about the Maxogen. Viper seems OK but looks a bit airy fairy. CDA I used to use on my valver and it was without a doubt the only filter I ever used that i really rated.

Thanks mate, my mind is being made up fairly easily here.

Just waiting to find out the difference in sizes of the CDA and a price.

ion order of my preference

ITG Maxogen
BMC CDA

Pipercross Viper

yes there is a gap between the CDA and the viper becuase IMHO (and from tests ive seen) the viper falls quite some distance behind the CDA in terms of performance
