Central locking/ alarm question

hi all just a quick one, sometimes when i lock my 2002 ph2 172 with the fob it makes 3 high pitched beeping sounds but then other times it just locks without any sound at all so which is normal? oh and also very occasionally when i unlock it and open the door the alarm starts going off lol cheers in advance, Matt

Could be worth replacing the relay (under the dash on the passenger side) as mine did similar things to this, before going mental and eventually not turning off at all ! Cat 1 alarms are f**king loud.

Think it was about £2 at a car parts place.

Wouldnt mind knowing this also as had this problem.

Also my car alarm going off when I open the door happens occasionally to me not sure why..

You need to give the alarm time to set/prime...Its doing it as your getting out of the car and pressing the fob too quick... If you get out your car, close your door and lock it after say 10 secs or as you are walking away it will not do it..
The same applies to opening the car, if you press the plip and open the car too fast the alarmwill go off or it will beep. Just plip it as your walking to the car. You just need to be patient with it
