central locking problem

I have came across a problem which I think is linked with my central locking, wether the car is locked or unlocked the boot does not open, the button won't go in to open the boot. I have checked the lock and there is nothing stuck in it. does anyone has any idea or suggestions to what the problem could be. thanks

There is one screw and several clips holding the inside panel onto the boot. Remove these, clean/wd40 the clip and see if it works after this.

just tried doing this mate and its still not working, I'm thinking its something to do with the metal rod not moving in the direction it's suppose to

I had to get a new boot lock when mine stopped opening/closing
