Car  306 GTI-6
My current system consists of:

Sony Headunit
Pioneer 17cm front speakers (powered from head unit)
Legacy or infinity (can't remember which!) 6x9s on the rear shelf (powered by sony amp)
And a pioneer 10" sub powered by an alpine amp.

I have hopefully just bought some mutant x kit which consists of:
10" Sub
6x9s
5.25 mids
and some tweeters.

What would be the best way to wire it up so that I get the best from everything? I will be doing it myself (again!) so was just looking for some advice really! Any wiring diagrams or similar would be great!

Thanks in advance
Martin

P.S Just remembered that I also have an active crossover unit sat in a box in my bedroom, would this be beneficial to use?

IMO - loose the 6 x 9.

Use the amp to power the sub and headunit to power the from comp.

Ideally get a 4 ch amp to power the whole set up.

How did you get the 17s in the doors? Did you use pods? I've got some 16cm alpine components from rover 220GTI that I wanna put in my cup

Thanks for the replies. I know that I will use one amp to power the sub as that is plugged into the 'sub out' on my headunit but how do I wire up the mids and the tweeters? Will there be seperate outputs on the headunit? Or if I power them from an amp will there be seperate outputs on that?

Thanks

Martin

Mids and tweeters should be controled by a x-over that comes with speaker or tweeter will have a feed running from mids.

Ahh I see! That clears things up a bit! I was worrying about how I would have seperate connections for mids and tweeters but if the tweeters run off the mids then there's no problem!
Thanks for clearing that up mate.
Martin.
