Change to Bios - New PC's could boot in seconds

  BMW M135i
Read about this a while back, still haven't really seen any mainstream stuff using it that i'm aware of? Definetly be the way forward though. And I really can't see it making a major difference to startup times as its the loading of windows that takes the most time, all the BIOS stuff is usually over within 10-15 seconds then windows takes another 30 or so.

yeah, this is true. Doesnt take that long to run through the bios checks, its Windows that takes the longest. Could be good to see the gains though when they start coming out.

can hardly see the bios changes making that much difference to be honest, it never takes long to go through the bios post screens anyway!

Should be good regarding the networking side of things, imo. I can't believe after all these years that a default standard network 'driver' isn't embedded into all motherboards. Even just a bobby-basic 10/100 driver - it doesn't have to be 1Gbps from the get go. The amount of times we recondition PCs at work and the manufacturer (usually HP) has 4 or 5 NIC drivers with hardly any clue as to which one it actually need. 'Tis stupid! :)
