Changed battery, now got faulty climate control...

As the title really - just changed my battery and now I have a faulty climate control, specifically the fan speed adjustment. All other controls work fine. But when I first started driving after fiting the battery, I increase the fan speed to the widscreen to de-mist, but when I went to turn it back down I couldn't!! The fan is now stuck on about 3/4 of full speed, and the problem wasn't resolved by turning the engine off/on.

Can anyone shed any light as to what's happened / how I can resolve?

This happened mine when my battery was playing up in my old dci Clio

Try turning the Climate off, disconnect the battery for 10-15mins then reconnect.
Test all functions on the Climate Control again.
Worked for me so good luck

Didn't work... the guys at Rentech seem to think it's a faulty fan resistor located under the scuttle panel
