Changed HT leads but revving to limit.......

After I fitted new leads the car revs straight to the limiter?!

1 is gearbox side, 4 is cambelt side, but that would result in misfiring, not hitting the limiter

put it this way if they were in the wrong order it would either misfire or pop and bang

go back to the start and retrace what has been done - as it was not doing it before

as said sounds like its got an air leak causing the revving up

Have you checked the rubber seal under the plenum is correctly in place? I doubt you can tell without removing it again.

Did you renew the rubber seal - it's recommended that it's replaced when you take off the plenum.

Mine did this though after I replaced the ICV - idle control valve. Sorted it eventually by adjusting the ICV.

Ph2 FBW throttle doesn't have an ICV AFAIK.

I've never replaced the seal but sometimes it falls out when putting the plenum back on.

it will be the plenum chap, you will have an air leak somewhere, if its revving like hell every time you switch it on you wont be able to tell, take the plenum back off and put it bk on chap
