Since i don't really know if anyone else has done this, probably have, and this is useless, but i thought i would share with the people who havent. Just incase they were a little scared of doing it aswell.
I changed the gear knob on my Clio, and it involved cutting out the exsisting one. Heres how it went.
1, I cut over the top and down the sides of the exsisting gear knob, this allows me to pry it apart.

2, Prying it off the plastic didnt work, so it was time to start chopping, no going back now:

3, Under the foam there is a plastic cap, very hard to get off with a stanley knife, i used a file thing.

4, After removing the plastic you are presented with the metal shaft, now this is where i was really scared, what if my new gear knob didnt fit over it :x
