Changed water pump....

Still got a leak!

I changed the water pump, cam belt and did a coolent flush on friday! Took it for a good run over the weekend and its still leaking, however It doesnt seem to be leaking out onto the floor!!!

So does it just use a lot of water when its hot or will there be a leak somewhere?

And du think I should replace all the hoses and clips to jubilee ones instead of those standard ones?

Any advice is great cheers,

Danny

if you have just done a full flush you will need to let the water settle down so fill it back up and give it a week to settle down.

It shouldnt really lose any water as its a sealed pressurised system ! How much has it lost ? it might just be that you underfilled the system due to there being air in the system, now that the air has escaped (probably via the pressure cap) that the water level has dropped. Top up the water and give it another couple of days, if it still loses water check all pipes, thermostat housing etc for leaks !!

cheers lads, yer your prob right as I remember when I was filling it up it seemed to fill up quicker than It did to lose it!!

Its prob lost a pint or so!

Ill keep topping it up this week then, do I have to keep opening the bleed screw on the radiater to get rid of any air when I refill it?

your supposed to bleed all the air out when you refill the system !! open the valve untill a constant flow of coolant flows with no bubbles

I did it until water started to come out of the bleed screw at the top of the radiator! But Im just meaning every time u top it up as your letting more air into the system?
