changing a gear knob

any body know how to replace the gear knob in a mk2 ph2 clio

its glued on.... u have to either cut it off, or snap the glue with a big wrench and twist.

cut the old one off, or big mole grips, you need to crack the glue

do i do this from just under the knob or what i will it damage it

so is it best to stanley knife the old gear knob down the side? or am i getting confused?

easiest way is to use a small junior hacksaw

no no no!!!!!



Take the middle of the cap off......... then drill down the centre of the gear knob...



When you hit white plastic... you have gone to far....

Then wrap a towel around the gearknob and crack it off with molegrips.

Thats how i replaced mine. and it came off in one piece. And it was reusable
