has anyone got a how to guide on how to change the front discs and pads on 172s please

not hard, just when the car is in the air, get a mate to put his foot on the pedal as you undo the 2 torx screws holding the discs on (dont over tighten these when you put it back together, just nip them up)

calipers arent too hard, but im too knackered to type it all out!!!!

tools needed are

13mm, 17mm, 18mm ring spanner

T30/35 (i think) torx bit

Its dead easy.

Remove the caliper and bracket (two bolts).

Remove the two nuts holding the disk on (impact driver youll need)

Push caliper piston back in.

Reasemble

There is a guide on the fum posted a while back. Just do a search for 172 or pad and it should brinf the guide up.

Disks arnt much extra work you need an impact driver usually to get the disks nuts off though there a right pain.

yes, no need for impact driver mate, just do as i say above, get a mate to put his foot on the brake pedal as you undo the torx screws!!! make life MUCH easier!!!

oh and youll need a hammer to get the old discs off!!!

The only reason youll be needing a impact driver, is if some donkey has over tightened the screws in the first place, the screws arent load bearing so DONT need to be done up stupidly tight
