changing pixel sizes

Thought this would be the best place to post.

Need some help, put as simply as you can please!!!

I am designing my own website and trying to put a picture on my home page. I have saved an image I want to use from google images. How ever, when I try and upload the image its telling me to make sure the image is 'at least 685x408 pixels'.

I dont have a clue what pixels the image is now or how to change it-or even what pixels are lol-any help would be greatly appreciated.

Like I said simple for a complete technology novice.

Many thanks guys.

I'm guessing it's website that you make little adjustments too as it's once that has already been built, you just change colour and layout etc rather than actually build it.

Pixel size will refer to image size pop it into Photoshop or something and change the image size to the above and away you go.

There will be free online software to do it for you Rosie, just type in 'Image resize' into google or something and one of the sites will do it for you.

It's a 30 second job for me if you wanted to PM me the image though.

I'm guessing the image isn't big enough.

If it needs to be smaller that's easy, you just define the height and width within the HTML.

Code:
<img src="linktoimage" height="408" width="605">

Though I imagine that's probably a bit more advanced than what you're doing.

I would be very careful taking images from Google images, it is likely that you will not be allowed to use it on your website.

PS if you are wanting to make the image larger it will lose quality.
