Changing sidelights on a 172!

Ive managed to change the passenger sidelight, which was hard enough, but with all the climate control and rubbish surrounding the drivers side, how do I manage to do this? Do I have to take the bumper off?

Has anyone here done this???

Thanks

Quite a lot of us have done it. You need to either have small hands or get be prepared to loose skink on your knuckles. Its not easy at all. Keep trying, you will get it in the end.

Sooooooo much easier on the Cup!

Did mine a couple of weeks ago and had heard the horror stories about it being hard, but was not a problem...

Oh right, cheers boys.

Ill have another pop at it then when I get home. The sidelights were from my Phillips Blue Vision bulbs off my old Expression Plus clio. I only wanna change them cuz the ORANGE sidelights look crusty up to the XENONS which are just soo buuum it is a joke.

On my old Clio I used to wanna look like a rude bwoy with the sidelights and fogs on as that does look dark, but nothing beats a SICK ride pulling up behind you with XENONS just beaming in your rear view!!

Thanks for the help

Yeah what Tom said!

u need the LEDS (white!!!!!) - ull find them on ebay for less than a tenner. They match the xenons mucho better than the blue visions.

Oh and if ur struggling getting the lamps in and out, use a handy small child, my 8 year old lad managed it no problem! Hes doing my oil filter next;) - only cost me a beyblade!!

I did all this to mine ages ago! Luckily i got small hands, but no other way round it guys. Good point about em looking orange next to Xenons... thats why i took em out!

I done mine a while back, is a bit tight, but did it all ok, took about 5 mins to do.

If you squeez your hand in yo can hold the sidelight bulb holder and fit the new bulb with your other hand, all good fun
