Changing the xenon bulbs (upgrading)

  S2 106 GTI
Is it just a simple task?? been looking on the HID-direct and there only £17 to upgrade to 6000k...... is it just as easy to remove the old 4300k bulb and replace it with the 6000k?

4300k is brighter then 6000k, 6000k just has a blue tinge to it

This gets scientific and you're technically right, although to the human eye 6000k is brighter. You get much better reflection from white lines and signs from 6000k and 8000k.

the best colout tempreature to have is 5000K

as the human eye is most sensitve to green light this is closest to it so to speak

i baught exactly the same bulbs this weekend from hid direct, its a right b*****d of a job to change them... passenger side wasnt a problem.. drivers side was a right pain in the ass i ended up having to take the bumper and headlight off... managed to get the bulb in but i couldn't get the ballast to go on the back of the bulb! right pain in the ass...

but yeah they have a slight blue tint to them.. not sure if the standard ones are brighter tbh... i think they were slightly lol.. but eitherway the blue ones look a bit better than driving round with yellow bulbs :p

Best thing is I already have the bumper off so changing them won't be a problem! just wanted to see if its a straight forward fit - remove old bulb and replace with new one.

5000k is the brightest bulb you can get, 6k and 4300k are pretty similar, I would say 6k is the brighter one!

Yer its just one in one out mate

oops didnt read above!
