just wandering why people remove the carbon/charcoal thingy off of the 172 ???

because when the solenoid wears out it clicks. Just a cheapskate way of getting out of replacing it.

Its not really nessasary..but you have to block of the pipe from the fuel tank iirc.
Mine ticked so I replaced it and it still f-ing ticked...when I changed the o2 sensor (befroe cat) it stopped ticking.
Think most remove it for weight saving.
Renault said they only usually change them if its had a front end smash.
