Dump valves that go "woosh" ?
Compared to the ones that go "boing"??? ;)

Just joshin, I dont think theyre chav...

...Think I still prefer the sound of twin 40s tho...more manly imo

i reckon they sound wicked!
or you could get a recirculating d/valve, they make a slightly different noise to the usual tisshh.

I didnt think recirculating d/vs made any noise, I had one on my old saab 9000 and it didnt sound beefy at all, thought it was a 2.0t?

Atmospheric d/vs sound well nice though, I think some people are linking the whoosh with the chavvish ford turbos ;)

Depends on what car. Whether its atmospheric or recirculating makes no odds, thats down to what kind of boost sensing the car uses, not really a matter of choice.

As far as I see it, the rule is - If its actually quite fast, any dump valve is OK. If its not, e.g. as Mike said, a Volvo 360 turbo then its a big NO. And I have seen a white Volvo doing the rounds up and down my road with a dump valve, DIY-done crinkly limo tints and a Fido Dido graphic across the bonnet. That is just wrong.

I like and I want, But it has to sound like a group B rally car, so needs to come equipped full of X-trac and Quiafe stuff, and the Turbo needs to Chirp really loud aswell.

hmmm, tricky one. If its on an old Saffy then fine. Volvo 360 turbo = chav.
Wouldnt an old saffire cossie by chavish on it own ?

Blasphemy I tell you - Sapph Cossie is the car that probably made DVs so popular. Def NOT a chav orientated car.

Before spending money on a dump valve and then a fitting kit, find out if your car can run on one.

If you have an airflow meter before the turbo it will cause problems just putting a dump valve on there.

Also - majorty of cars have a re-circ dumpvalve or else you get compressor stall and eventually a knackered turbo.
