Cheap alternative to a PC polisher?

  Clio 197
I'm after something that'll speed up the process, but I'm not interested in spending a rediculous amount of money for something that I'll use once every month.

Currently, it takes me about an hour to get the car clean (properly)...

...I don't really fancy then spending an hour on each coat of wax afterwards!

Any ideas?

No real alternative to the pc if your after defect correction

All the other machine polishers i.e. £13.99 in halfords are pretty lame

An hour for a coat of wax Nah Jeffs Acrylic Jett Sealant 10 mins for the whole car

No defects... just protection I'm after. Anything that'll help me get it done properly (coats don't seem to last long).

I've been using two buckets & a jetwash, and after 15,000 miles no swirls are visible.

You dont really need anything other than some good aplicator and a weee bit elbow grease lazy mans way would be collinite 845 liquid wax or applying a few coats of 476 (you can buy both of these delivered from a guy called esquier on ebay.com for around £20) these have fantastic durability so would not need topped up frequently and still bead well after 3-4 months

If your not looking to remove any defects just get a quick an easy to use sealant.

I used to use EGP on its own... but doesn't last that long, plus it's a bugger to buff off.

(PS and its not as lovely looking as NXT for some reason, probably because you need to apply SRP first... which I don't have time to do!).

Get one SRP layer on when you get a chance then build up layers of this:

Like EGP in a spray and wipe form, whole car can be done in 10.

No cure time, or time needed to add additional layers like EGP (12-24 hours between costs).

I can do three coats of it in the time it would take to apply and remove one of EGP.

Durable too, one coats over a coat of SRP lasts a good 3 months on my 306.

I am using my 5 litres of EGP slowly still on wheels though.

Ladies call me the 2 minute man... but I suppose 10 mins is ok. ;)

Nice one. I'll give that a try.

I recall using the stuff on my meggy225 wheels - it used to get rid of a lot of tar & stuff. I take it that's the reason you use it on your wheels?

SRP and EGP are a durable combo, my main reason is I have 5 litres of each to use up on something !

I don't get out of bed for less than 75 ;)

I could afford to have a second Mrs for £75 every three months!

lol! - Seriously, spend an hour on SRP, get some Jeffs and wack some on every few washes.

Is that all ?

As you know a sealant on the paint is nothing in in the scheme of what you need to do to win trophies.

But you just admitted all that info was new to you - speak to your Autoglym rep more !
