Cheap performance mods

Can anyone reccomend anything cheap I can do to my car for some good gains other than stripping it? Don't fancy doing things I'm gona have to be swapping at m.o.t time like a decat lol.

I'm gona get a panel filter and thinking about running a CAF to it from the lower grille, would this make a difference?

What sort of gains will a remap see and is there any point without a lot of mods?
