Cheaper insurance - but I am now 30 year old Virgin!!

  Red Clio 197 F1
Always a few threads flying around discussing car insurance so I thought I'd add to it!

Currently with Norwich Union and last years insurance was £1,024 as a 29 year old.

Below are the quotes as a 30 year old with no convictions etc, parked on road doing 14k miles a year:

Norwich Union - £844.56 (£300 XS)
Elephant.co.uk - £785.44 (£300 XS)
Tesco.co.uk - £967.05 (£300 XS)
Virgin.co.uk - £684.60 (£200 XS)

I checked out the policies on all 4 and Virgin do not leave much out and the excess is less. I added my girlfriend on to the policy and it only went up £4!!

That'll make me a 30 year old Virgin then :)

Think I have been a mug for too long as my insurance seems very high. All about to change though!!

Ive been with Adrian Flux for a few years now and they are very good! Always very easy to deal with and highly competitive rates.

I shop round every year, find the best quote then ask them to beat it, and they do. :approve:

Ok, I've got another new years resolution - don't be a mug with your car insurance!

Some of you guys have got seriously cheap insurance, surely these small brokers cut back on something or sky high excess, no extras etc??

  RenaultSport clio 182
I have a £200 excess on mine. Ive never had to put a claim through Aid Flux but whenever I change a car or anything like that or add a driver etc they are sooo quick and professional Ive stayed with them.

But they suck the fat one when it comes to paying out.

I wouldn't touch them with a very long barge pole!

Been there, done that, never again!

Never had a problem with Adrian Flux . Don't forget they are only the broker , they use Royal SunAlliance insurance , so if you have any problems they are the people who actually pay you out . Sorted my claim out no probs and kicked ass with the body shop who f*cked up the repairs .

Also you have to take into consideration , how many years no claims you got and post code is a major factor . You might live in an area with a high crime rate , this will bump your quote up a lot too !

Must admit I am currently with Adrian Flux and never had any problems with them. They recently sorted out a minor claim for me (Not my fault) very quickly and professionally.

Only reason I am thinking of leaving them is a much cheaper qoute from Renault.

Doug,

Adrian Flux price match and guarantee to beat any other qoute you get proof of!! I have done it with two cars recently.

Sold my Focus RS as I am having a house extension so bought a clio valver, as my insurance was coming up for renewal they qouted me £700 fully comp with 4 years no claims and a none fault accident (I'm 26), I went ballistic as I have been with them 3 years and my RS only cost me £800 so anyway I rang round etc etc and got the same qoute with performance direct for £420 re rang Adrian Flux and I now pay £400 with no charge for all my mods!!!!!!!!

They qouted my wife's renewal on a vx220 which I had insured through them last year at £920 which was £70 dearer than I paid the year before, again went ballistic and Performance direct qouted £750 with business class 1 so I re rang and I have just renewed with Adrian Flux today for £731.

Amazing how money can be knocked off isn't it!!!!:D

sounds like you got the bad part of the deal, well unless the extension is for you and you look after her vx220 most days ;)
