Check age of email account ?

Hi,

Do you guys know of any ways to find out how long an email account has been activated which is not yours?

i.e, looking to purchase something off an individual, but to get some further reassurance, just want to know how old his account is.

Is it a free email account (hotmail, yahoo)?

Even if the email address was 5 years old, what's stopping it from being hacked, and being used by someone else?

I'd find other ways to check them out.
