=Check List Ready for 2.0ltr transplant=

Trying to get a list together of all the parts that ill be replacing on my soon to be Williams engine. all "internals" are staying as they are, Only bolt on parts i can think to replace are :-

1. clutch

2. water pump

3. Oil Pump

4. Dogbone mount

however do i really need to replace the oil pump? how long do these things last for? I never hear people saying they are loosing oil pressure etc..

2nd question FAO all you 2.0ltr 16v owners

Have i done the right thing going 2.0? Cant help but think ive done something wrong as my current engine is running sweet as a nut. Please enforce me with some good feed back :D

how about u have my 1.8, and do a twin engine convertion Glenn? 4x4 style! youll be the new 1/4 daddy! (even tho you cant drive to save your life) ;)

wouldnt worry about oil pump as they are supposed to always outlast rest of bottom end. Water pump is recommended, cambelt with tensioner and idler, and while engine and box are on bench you would be as well changing clutch. Drive shaft seal, downpipe sealing ring, pile of jubilee clips (dont you just hate renault factory clips) plus anything that looks trashed or gets trashed on strip down. Let us know if 2ltr is worth it as if I could find one I would probably go for it, although since I cant find one I am just going to refit my 1.8, but will always wonder what it might have been like

Thank you Alex. Speak to weight and adams about the convertion tho as they already have theres (there not giving much away! lol) I think its for greedy people really as i am more then happy with my 1.8.

a new oil is only 45quid from a motor factors. im sticking a new one in my new williams engine im building. only a matter of undoing the sump bolts. easy job

jimbo

jimbo1, not sure of the setup, but if you can take the oil pick up pipe off also, whilst sump is off, clean out the end bit (usually metal mesh) in petrol or similar as they get really clogged up, and its this the oil pump has to suck through
