check your engine bays for cats!!

urgh! horrific experience last night.

my mate had come up to my unit to have a chat lend a hand etc. after a couple of hours he left.

head a horrible noise and assumed it was cats fighting, you get it from time to time being in the middle of no where..

chris comes bolting back through the door panicing saying somethings in his car... grabbed a couple of torches and ran out.

a cat had been asleep in his engine bay

It was one of the wild ones from up at the unit, so luckly no owner.

yeah theres a farm near me that sells eggs and has loads of wild cats/kittens, people drive up and whilst their parked the cats like the warm engine so climb up and find somewhere to sleep, a few have fallen out and died unfortunately

Ive had a cat sleep under my old VTS with throttle bodies, It was a bit of a pig to start in the cold mornings so you would have to give it a bit of throttle (no ICV) And when it fired I've never seen a cat run so fast, I think I gave it a heart attack

Joking aside, poor thing.

This happened to our Cat when I was young, he was in someones engine bay, because it was warm, he dragged himself home with mashed up back legs, the Vet said he would have to lose one, but we said just put him down rather than have three legs, but he managed to save them both.

one of these had been removed for it by the fan belt and the other one completely shattered, we did joke about a kitteh' wheel char but being a wild cat i cant imagine it would have worked too well.

I once drove home from devon in a ford orion.

Upon returning home from my holiday I decided to wash the car. Walked round the front and there was bits of rabbit hanging out of the alloy wheel. Disgusting! I had to remove the wheel and pressure wash the caliper as it had wrapped itself around it. Not good.

I feel a little bit sad for that cat now though laura, I hate rabbits so that didn't bother me but cats are cool.

good friend had a similar thing many years ago with his volvo. Cat slept in the bay for the warmth, mate went to start the car...cue lots of screeching. Called my dad and sat and waited, me and my dad turned up and opened the bonnet and found the screeching was a now very dead and splattered cat!
then a old lady came down asking if we had seen her cat.. LOL

i didnt know what to do.. i was trying to think of someone i know with a gun to come finish it off

we thought it was going when it was sat on the wheel but then it moved its self round to the front n got comfy
it still had loads of fight when the vet turned up (who im sure wasnt old enough to have even finished high school let alone vetinary school)
