Chemical Guys - Strong Wash (Bug Bugger)

  1.2 Dynamique 16v
I bought this (amongst a couple of other things) from cleanyourcar.co.uk..

It says it is a tar, bug & grime remover. I kind of bought it just off that, is it a good product to use for these purposes?

I have the Autoglyn tar remover, which I found to be rubbish.

Having researched more, I hear Tardis is good and there is some cheap deals on eBay which I'm considering purchasing (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Autosmart-Tar..._CarParts_SM&hash=item43a10ed2a9#ht_875wt_905).

Is it worth waiting for the Strong Wash to arrive to use as a tar remover, or should I just go ahead and order some Tardis?

I dont think that will actually do much so best buying the tardis to go with it.

I have got some Autoglym Tar remover i wasnt impressed when i used that, Tardis is the way forward.

Yeah its a poor product. Unless I have been using it incorrectly.

Do you think buying it off eBay is a good idea? Its about 75% cheaper than Polished Bliss.. legit??

It is legit yeah, but some people say you should keep it in a metal container and have it labelled up properly. Upto you.

No tardis is used only as a tar remover and shouldnt be left on the paint for too long and also rinsed off before claying, polishing, waxing, sealing whatever you do.

I'm going to be cleaning my car when the weather picks up, how do I use this product (strong wash)? Anyone used it before?

It's alright! I've got the 5litre one on order, in the proper metal container from Polished Bliss. I didn't fancy it after the above was said.

What about the strong wash? Ideas on how to use properley?

Haven't used it. But I do know it's pretty good as a bug cleaner and prewash. As a tar remover though not sure.

My general thoughts are anything that is "multipurpose" isn't generally that good. Ie it might be crap at tar removal.

Pre-wash as in put some in the snow foam solution?

No pre wash as in put it in a spray bottle (foaming type??) and spray it on certain areas to break down bugs and other crap. You could use it in snowfoam i guess but I prefer not to mix any in with the snowfoam. Just incase it causes the snowfoam not to actually foam, the i4detailing cities snowfoam I have doesn't like having mega APC mixed in with it.

Although a larger pump sprayer would work..dependant on which one you actually have. I have a small hand pump sprayer that I picked up for £1 from wilco or somewhere similar which does the trick. The larger ones IMO are for people who run a cleaning business and go through s**t loads.

Its like that but Green and doesn't cost £6

Yeahhhh Im a chepskate.

PS Im 30 tomorrow Gally :(

  Not a 320d
Its s**t.

Diluted snowfoam, or citrus snowfoam will remove bugs quite well I find. Use mine in a sprayer.
