chip for 16v

  Titanium 182

my cousin has just bought a chipped valver, seems to be using tons of petrol, when being slightly enthusiastic!

but i think its just a super chip, what do they do also it seems to have a raised rev limiter, 7700 ish?

how can u do this as i want to do it 2 my 16v

Ring Ktec, BBtuning, hill power... which ever is nearest to you.

I know i asked in Ktec last week and david said they have a spare ECU there that they will swap while your is sent away to be reprogrammed. thats just a basic superchip i think.

Somewhere like Hill power can offer a RR setup i believe to you exact car, rather than just a universal clio 16v chip like Ktecs( they dont have the RR facility)

Although everybody will say get a proper setup one, even the normal unoversal superchip will improve the car.( when i say universal i mean for any clio16v)

Dean, i have a spare ECU if you want to keep your existing one as a backup or while you you have your one sent away to be rechipped. I think they will solder the new chip into your own ECU so if you dont like the results you will have bother removing it..... Ive got a hillpower one in mine and its sh*t hot - plus they will reprogramme it for only £35 if you get further mods...

Anyways, wrong forum i know but £60 (ill pay postage).....

Is the BBtuning Chip good for 1.6 dynamique? Ive no othe mods apart from a Green element filter. Do they raise the rev-limiter??

Iwas also thinking about Superchips as It Is bog standard?!

Cheers

i wont want to change the settings back to std, and dont have much money at the mo, so cant buy yours mate

theres a place that does super chips locally, and has a rr, might spk 2 them, id love to go to hill power but im in the north east, dont think its round here

Well, im in Aberdeen - i sent my spare ECU down to Hillpower (south of england nr collchester i think) and they chipped and returned it really quickly. Absolutely no problems with it and it made a hell of a difference. If you dont mind lossing the use of your car for a few days, just courior your ECU to them - guaranteed theyre the cheapest and best as far as im concerned.... I dont think youll need a rolling road if your just getting a standard map...

i found no difference with the chip at all apart form 600prm extra to thrash the b****cks off of it. unichip all the way....if uv got a spare 500 squid lying about anyway! lol

Ive heard some bad things about the aftersale on the superchip. So I wouldnt recomend them. A Custome remap would be the best idea every engine is different so one modiffied chip setting be it via Superchip or whatever company doesnt exploit these fully.

right, so how do i go about removing my chip?

and how much will hill power want from me to chip and return it?

can i then just plug it back in to my car,

No to a super chip then? what do super chips really do?

To remove your valver ecu, you will need to unbolt the jack and jack mount etc from the drivers side skuttle. Underneith, you will find a black plastic box with a think cable going into it. You will be able to separate the black plastic box (its ion two halves) and the ecu will be inside (silver thingy with siemans stamped on it) - unplug it and send it to Hillpower. They will charge ya 150quid excluding vat to chip it. When they send it back, installation is just the reverse of removal - plug it in and away you go. Easy!!

Remember to tell hillpower what mods youve got on your car as they have different mappings available. I think stage one is for filter and zorst, stage two (wot ive got) is for zorst, filter, PBV and cams. It all depends but price is the same...

Hillpower really is the cheapest and they do know what theyre doing - think they race valvers etc
