the renault factory paint jobs are sh*te.the paint layer is just so thin it chips so easily.when i can be bothered im gonna get my bonnet redone.my mate had his 172 bonnet redone and he hasnt got any new stonechips yet.

had the bodyshop look at mine, the chips show up more with it being a dark colour, they said they would have to spray the bonnet, bumper and the tops of the wings to get it to blend, the rest of the wings would then be relaqured

cheapest quote was £260 from a local guy that did some work on my previous car

James, I have the same problem on my V6. Front ends looks like a terminal case of acne. I cracked part of it driving into a cone on trackday so I am looking to replace and will go with Amourfend to protect it since that does a good job on my mates M3 and Elise. You can get kits for just the front end of the Clio if you want you do not need the whole kit.

If yours in anything like mine the chips are all over the front splitter and then up the bonnet as well. As I said above respray the front, amourfend it and then replace the bonnet with something that does not show chips (CF perhaps)!
