Hiya everybody,

n00b poster here.

Ordered a 172 cup about 2 weeks ago from new car discount in Stockport. Theyre delivering it next Friday. I cant wait, feels like Xmas has come early this year.

Am I right in thinking that Ill have to run it in for the first 1500 miles or so? If true, the temptation to boot it may be too much to resist, what with all the CRX/Nova driving gangstas in my area... hehe.

Some people say run them in other say dont if you are planning to keep the car for the rest of your life then go easy with it, if not give it about 200 miles then start using as it was ment to be used.

i ran mine in to 600 mile with the odd blast. you will love it mate.

all 172s are great cars for the money.

you would have been better getting a vts though, their a lot faster

what car are you getting rid off for the cup?

next friday!!. I ordered my 172, 2 weeks ago, and have been told it wont be delivered until september! i also ordered from NCD.... not their fault i suppose. damn renault. well annoyed now

Good to see that I wont have to run it in for as many miles as I first thought. Im sure I wouldnt have been able to keep the revs down for too long.

currently got a 2.5L V6 Ford Probe... goes alright but hardly the worlds most stylish or best handling car. Im from the Oldham area, maybe Ill see you at a local meet sometime.

Sorry to hear about the delay siroldvolks. September!? That sucks.

Ordered mine on Friday 13th June (hope thats not an omen ) and was originally told to expect delivery on 23rd July. They rang me up today to say that Id be getting it next Friday. I guess Friday 13th wasnt so unlucky after all.

yeah just wait till your up to temperature and thrash it m8. Mine was fine that way. 2k on the clock now and the engines only just starting to loosen up a bit.

gorby, I ordered mine a couple of days after you! waited a couple of weeks before i chased it, and now been told its gonna be september gutted. was told that the supply fro NCD i having probs getting mine, now hence 2 month wait. though i aint getting the cup version. oh well, i prey that by magic i get it earlier!!!
