Churchill Inscurance with Mods

:mad: Just spoken to some thick tart at churchill and she told me I cant modify my car in any way until im 25! The problem is, I'm installing an after market exhaust on friday, i already have OZ wheels on and im getting the full renault sport bumpers, skirts and wings sprayed next week. I was also going to lower the car 60mm.

Looks like i'll have to cancel the Churchill insurance and go somewhere else. Im 18 and have a 1.2

Any recommendations?

Josh.

The girl is correct both Churchill and Directline (part of RBS group) do not accept mods until people are 25 or over. All I can suggest is do a ring around, Elephant apparently arent bad on mods, unfortunatly with respect age is going to be your issue here being only 18. You could also try Footman James or Greenlight?

Rich :)

Same happened to me a while ago. Swiftcover did me a good price and are a bit more flexible.

I'm in the exact same boat! Churchill and 18...

Luckily I've not modified my car (other than audio..) but I will want to fairly soon. Unfortunately Churchill were one of the cheapest... no, least expensive for me so I went with them.

If you find somewhere that don't mind about your mods I'd love to know.

im going to ring around tomorrow and i'll let you all know who comes out cheapest..i guess it will be quinn if they dont charge extra for mods! hoping to get fully comp for under £1600! and churchill are cheap but thats about it, they are f***ers when you want somethiing from them!

Expect to be paying over the odds with a lot of mods like that!!

@ 18 on a 1.0 Micra (not modded lol) i was paying about £1400

Id say your looking around the £1800 region with those mods, unless you find a very nice policy.

Admiral, they rock, stick both ur parents on!

with mods (engine suspension body kit etc) my 07 plate mk3 was 1100

  Golf R soon...
Greenlight are excellent for modifications on cars! Have to be over 21 to get a policy with them mind.

Its basically a £25 one off charge to add a modification to the policy. You can add as many as you want at the same time.

They do have there bad points though! They don't insure the following vehicles:

* BMW E36 models - (E30/E46 derivatives are still acceptable)
* Citroen Saxo models
* Ford Sierra RS500 model
* Honda S2000, Integra DC2 & DC5 imports (UK DC2's are acceptable)
* Imported Subaru models (UK Models are acceptable)
* Lotus Elise/Exige
* Mitsubishi Lancer Evo (All)
* Nissan 200SX models (All)
* Porsche (except Boxster)
* Renault Clio 172 “Cup” (non-ABS) model - (All other 172 derivatives are acceptable)
* Skoda Fabia/Octavia models
* TVR (all models)
* Vauxhall VX220 Turbo
* LHD vehicles (except Golf Rallye and Lancia Delta)
* Vehicles not listed by The Association Of British Insurers (ABI)

Ok so far this is what I've been quoted by having my own policy...

Churchill and Direct Line - N/A
Endsleigh - £3500 ThirdPartyFireTheft
Adrian Flux - £1775 ThirdPartyFireTheft
Swinton - £2500 ThirdPartyFireTheft (before mods)

Been on the phone for the last hour to about 4 different companies that are specialist modified car insurers. None of them can offer me anything under £2500, most of them are £3000 third party. Think im going to have to go with the £1775 for now. The company is called Equity Red Star! I'm going to speak to my parents tonight but doesnt look too promising for my wallet. :(

And before anyone says dont modify it..i was an idiot and bought all the bumpers, exhaust and wheels before I checked my insurance so either way im losing money!

You're the thick tart, not the woman doing her job.

You committed to all these mods without checking your insurance first?

Edit: just seen your last post - ownage accepted LOL
