civic type R seats

was just wondering has anyone ever attemped to fit these seats inside a clio or any other seats for other cars for that matter think it would be very different.


Opinions welcome?

it could be done, its just a case of having the correct subframes, or worst case senario a little modification would come into play, think about it like this, companys such as sparco etc are not going to just produce a seat just for one car 9/10 there gonna be universal with just dif subframes at a guess

so do you recon it would be worth buying a set and seeing if i can modify the subframes to fit the typeR seats

Just a crap colour! Blue/Red/Black or yellow...

Easier ways around it mate without the hassle of adapting subframes.

However capital seating do subframes to go on the std runners which imo is the best bet.

I put civic type r seats in my 1997 civic coupe they looked fukin mint to had subframes made up

ok guys i have just bought a full grey and black civic typeR interior to go into the cup

so hopefully with your guys help this can be a simple swap over anyone know where i can get subframes or adaptors for the front seat conversion, or even better anyone ever done a conversion with the typeR seats before or any other seats for that matter

any sort of help will be much appreciated

i'm asuming you have the special edition seats (recaro's black and red trendline) same as the trophy but in a different material?
if they are and they dont fit pm me as my mates after a set

think they are just the standerd typeR seats mate, black and grey with the red cicle type thing in the seat, if they were recaros would it say it it on them?

Fair play for trying it out etc, but I think that having the type R logo on them will make them look wrong in a clio.

the type r premier had recaros in it similar in style to the trophy but finding second hand pair is dificult. I think the normal civic type r seats would lok a bit toss in a clio personaly it'd be beter geting some normal buckets

Once you have the bare seat itself off the honda frame, you will be able to custom fit it to your renault subframe with modification.

I recently fitted some mitsi evo 9 Recaros into my Cup, and it was a right b*****d of a job tbh. I had looked into ctr seats as they are pretty cheap, until i came accross brand new recaros for a good price

I had to butcher the renault subframes with an angle grinder and make custom brackets/mounting points etc, which wasnt easy atall, so unless you have the skills and tools etc, i wouldnt recomend it!lol!dont think id do it again as when i finished i vowed that the next car i buy will have them already

went and picked them up yesterday and took some pics

i also have the rear bench which i will be putting to re-trimmers along with the cup rear bench

does anyone know if the red centre of the seat comes out as that would look nice mondial blue?
