that depends on you insurance company,

they are a mod, you cant deny that,
but theyre not really a performance mod in any way,

best give them a ring tbh

im not sure i want to ring them yet. thing is im a named driver on my mums insurance until september hence why i cant lower or inductin kit etc.

how would they not know that you didn't have them in when you bought the car. they aren't the type of mod you need to disclose

im sure that they would go back to the place that i bought it and find out if they were sold with it in. only way i can think of getting around it is to claim that they will help with my mums neck problems ;) the ones im thinking about look very similar to the ones that she has in her golf gti

Nonsense. They would no because they a blatantly not going to be standard, any insurance investigator would literally spot it from 20m away. Does your car have side airbags?

Insurance went up on mine when I put Recaro's in, as I was losing the side airbags.

Depends if he bought it from new surely. The previous owner could have put them in.

Flol. Why would that matter. If you buy a 172 on ITB's, stripped, cage'd, would you not declare those mods? It's a modification from standard, not from when you bought the car.

why would it. Insurance companies are not going to go through the full history of the car. If it has been owned before you would be fine. Why pay more money when you dont have to. They never pay out anyway. Insurance = Scam. Too many loop holes.

Of course they pay out you f**king idiot! Sounds like you've had a bad time through insurance through not declaring things, therefor this bloke needs to declare his seats!!

I see your point mate, And its quite possible to get away with "thats the way i bought it".

But its not really worth it for a quite a big mod such as seats.

And insurance companys will make money out of you every way they see possible, Its how they keep going.

I hope your just trolling, because otherwise thats completely wrong. Insurance investigators get paid to find reason to reject claims. Car mod'd and not declared, they can (and will) refuse to pay.

i can only see that working with a small mod such as an air filter or induction kit, lowering springs (in black) and stealth exhaust! that way you could just claim that you didnt have any knowledge that they were there and were a modification lol

Yep, to many loopholes already, so don't give them another one by not declaring even the most minor mods.
