Claying Tips

Hey,

Im pretty much in to my detailing.. well its more of an addiction now.

One thing i have never attempted is claying which i will be doing during the week when i get my car back.

Im either going for the Meguires smooth surface clay kit or Quick clay.

What direction should i be claying? Up and down??

Is it possible for any personal tips please?? especially of you Rich!

It's easy, did my first ever claying on sat, can't go wrong really aslong as you lube it well.

plenty of lubricant , whether it's the quick detailer or shampoo mixture .
break the bar into 3 pieces , use a cup of warm water to loosen the clay bar

Did you rub over the car in any particular direction?

Im guessing light pressure would be best.

after claying you should polish / seal / wax .

Other additions to it, direction, go in a back and forward motion you are happy with. Once you have clayed all the paintwork, then clay the glass, lights and finally the wheels to get the most out of the clay.

Do people have the meguiars smooth surface clay or the sonus green ultra fine clay bar?
