ive had it the kit for 2 years and never cleaned the air filter is this bad?if i clean it will it sound better?

no it wont sound better, it'll sound like it did when its new.
it should really be cleaned every 10,000 miles like a conventional filter to keep it operating at its best.
K&N sell a cleaning kit, but fairy liquid really is just as good, altho the dirt retention spray is useful in the kits.
