Cleaning an induction kit

Hi

Seen as it looks like im stuck with the clio for a while i thought i might aswell put my k&n back on. Im gonna clean it first and thought i could just soak it and pressure wash it and put it back on but my brother reckons i need a special cleaning kit that will oil it up aswell...

What exactly do i need to do/buy and is it costly?

Ta!

yeah, although you should preferably:

1) Clean with <insert brand name here>s very expensive filter cleaner.
2) Leave air filter in <insert brand name here>s cleaning solution (probably soapy water) for a soak
3) Allow to dry
4) Spray with <insert brand name here>s own "specially formulated" air filter oil.

These companies try to squeeze every penny out of you!
