hi guys how do you clean the filter in the bmc cda cheers? also has anyone got a good clear engine bay picture of it fitted to there 172 so i can compare when i fit mine cheers again

old pic but here it is, just remove air box and attach filter, simple as

and as for cleaning, i took mine off last weekend and it was nasty, soaked it in soapy water and left to dry, worked well

ludaprix, im tempted to get one of these has i have heard good things about them on other cars like saxos etc, what are they like on the clio??? nice sound and performance increase? worth the monies?

take it off, and spray some of that filter cleanners spray stuff on it, and leave it overnight to soak in / clean not sure how, but if u search the web it';ll tell u how, i think u can also clean it with a light coat of wd40, to stop the foam drying out and being sucked into the engine, nasty !!!

cheers guys thanks for your comments so far my filter looks pretty clean but should i spray some wd40 into it for lubrication as this is all i have at the moment until i get a proper cleaning kit many thanks cheers..so you dont have to take the filter out of the housing then to clean??

nah mate u can spray it in without taking it out of the housing

Use a K&N cleaning kit they use a similar cotton mesh element like k&n filters

Motocross bikes use foam filters so I use a motocross filter cleaning kit on my ITG

cheers for getting back to my ludaprix, just a question however, how have you routed the cold air into it? does it just lay in the engine bay or have you pipped cold air into it say from a air scoop or summit?

and is there any chance you could pm me a few photos of it installed, just so i can get my head around how it sits in the engine bay and how the air gets into it if possible?
